Faced with the chosen support, Stephane occupies the space, all the space, in the same way that he occupies the ground when he meets you. He paints, he speaks, he creates and he shows. He even hacks, he says. And the result of his work springs in a chaos of colors, a profusion of forms. The line is precise and the architecture almost recurrent. The man knows the artist and offers him his freedom of interpretation; the artist knows the man and draws a frame for him. A reassuring caretaker for too much exaltation – A drawing on the crunch pattern in the street or on a port, photographed, digitized, enlarged, reproduced on canvas, Plexiglas, steel, etc. The work is ready to come to life under the brush, to reinforce itself by the use of chalk, ink, charcoal. To multiply in the difference – If some of his paintings flirt with black and white, the artist does not hesitate to invest the color, all the colors, sometimes until saturation. Its urban ambiances are like a landscape over the hours of a day, from the sun to the zenith at dusk. Series are born; add up, complement each other, answer each other. The formats expand like open windows on the outside. His world, even constrained by a visual or mental construction escapes the limits. The imagination does the rest and the dream carries us away.

An Emerging Artist is someone who’s in the early stage of his or her career. Someone who’s caught the eye of an art critic and/or gallery but hasn’t yet established a solid reputation as an artist amongst art critics, art buyers, and art galleries. Independent of his or her chronological age, this individual has created a modest independent body of work.

Mid-career Artist

The Mid-career Artist is an artist who has created an independent body of work over a number of years and who has received regional or national recognition through publications or public presentations of his or her work. A Mid-career Artist has had a significant number of solo exhibitions at significant galleries and museums, located nationally or internationally.

Established Artist

An artist who is in the Established stage in his or her career has created an extensive body of independent work. He or she has reached an advanced level of achievement by sustaining a nationally or internationally recognized contribution to the discipline, and his or her work’s value has been decided through consistent years of sales and confirmed at auction.
