Artist short biography

Kiattisak is a Thai artist who graduated from Silpakorn University in 1997. He used to be a lecturer at Sripatum University in Bangkok before he decided to devote his full time to his art. Since then, he has exhibited over 50 times in numerous galleries, both solo and group exhibitions, including at the National Gallery in Bangkok. His unique painting style ranges from impressionistic to semi-abstract expressionism. His art grows out of his daily experiences in his home area, in Ubon Ratchatani, Northeast of Thailand, where the Khong and Moon rivers merge like two friends. The slow, simple daily life of Ubon is the perfect frame for him to produce his paintings. The endless greenery inspires his art. Kiatissak has been painting this evocative landscape for decades. His artistic images are witnesses to the effect that Thailand’s countryside has on his soul. Moreover, his paintings showcase the changing seasons of Thailand: the relentless sunshine of the hot season, the life-giving monsoon rains of the rainy season, and the strong winds of December when cold settles like a blanket across the land. Whether one prefers Kiattisak’s realistic or semi-abstract art, a viewer will find the heartfelt vibrancy of Thailand rising from all his paintings.

Mid-career Artist

The Mid-career Artist is an artist who has created an independent body of work over a number of years and who has received regional or national recognition through publications or public presentations of his or her work. A Mid-career Artist has had a significant number of solo exhibitions at significant galleries and museums, located nationally or internationally.

Established Artist

An artist who is in the Established stage in his or her career has created an extensive body of independent work. He or she has reached an advanced level of achievement by sustaining a nationally or internationally recognized contribution to the discipline, and his or her work’s value has been decided through consistent years of sales and confirmed at auction.
