Biography
Karolina was born in Poland, but grew up in Nigeria and has been travelling the world for most of her life. For the past ten years she has been based between Bangkok, Thailand and Brixen, Italy. Karolina’s art is very much inspired by the places she visits, the lines, shapes, colours and moods she finds. "In my art, rather than paint an exact copy of what is in front of me, I find it more interesting to use the subject as a point of reference, and create something new, that reflects the feeling of what I am painting and also represents me. I hope to be able to provide people with some fun and happiness through my art, as I believe this is something that is very much needed in today's world". The artist often uses bright colours in her work, and builds up texture using many layers of paint. She also adds elements of collage and combines paint with pencil, crayon or charcoal. All of this brings the paintings to life and means there is a lot for the viewer to discover. The paintings by this artist have been shown in group and solo exhibitions in Thailand, and Europe. Her work is part of private collections in Asia, Europe and America.
