Artist short biography

Thanh Thuy is an artist born in 1978 in Long Khanh city, Dong Nai province, South-Vietnam. Originally a dentist, Thanh Thuy has a true passion for art; she has been painting for years. By using bright acrylic colors, Thanh Thuy has put in her paintings optimism, freeing people from negativity. Abstract painting represents the majority of Thanh Thuy's work. Impressionist and expressionist styles are widely used to create her paintings. Thanh Thuy's works of art are always oriented towards the positive messages of life. She thinks that it is the bright, brilliant paintings that will make people reach "Catharsis". Artists such as Lee Krasner and Hans Hofmann have largely inspired Thanh Thuy. As a freelance artist leading a main business activity besides creating works of art, Thanh Thuy has the chance to regularly sell her paintings within her business network. In joining Silapix early 2021, Thanh Thuy has been given her first opportunity to exhibit her paintings in public during the Art Rotation 2 at the five stars hotel Le Meridien Saigon. With 25 years’ experience in creating and selling her paintings, Thanh Thuy has acquired a solid reputation. Only considering the past year, she has sold a hundred of paintings to individuals, hotels and restaurants across Vietnam. She currently lives and works in Dong Nai province, intending to participate in more exhibitions in the near future.

Differences between Emerging, Mid-career and Established Artists

Emerging Artist

An Emerging Artist is someone who’s in the early stage of his or her career. Someone who’s caught the eye of an art critic and/or gallery but hasn’t yet established a solid reputation as an artist amongst art critics, art buyers, and art galleries. Independent of his or her chronological age, this individual has created a modest independent body of work.

Mid-career Artist

The Mid-career Artist is an artist who has created an independent body of work over a number of years and who has received regional or national recognition through publications or public presentations of his or her work. A Mid-career Artist has had a significant number of solo exhibitions at significant galleries and museums, located nationally or internationally.

Established Artist

An artist who is in the Established stage in his or her career has created an extensive body of independent work. He or she has reached an advanced level of achievement by sustaining a nationally or internationally recognized contribution to the discipline, and his or her work’s value has been decided through consistent years of sales and confirmed at auction.
